Calzedonia is the Italian high-street name for affordable legwear, and the 40D Sheer is its everyday semi-transparent workhorse. At about $14 it aims for clean, simple style. We wore them through a normal week to see if the Italian label delivers.
We tested the nude pair in size M. The 40D Sheer is a semi-transparent tight with a soft matte finish, a standard waistband, and a reinforced toe. Calzedonia markets it for daily wear, so we wore it to the office and on errands.
The 40-denier knit is smooth with a soft, slightly powdery hand that feels pleasant against skin. The sheerness is moderate — leg tone shows through gently, which reads natural rather than bare. The waistband is unobtrusive and stayed put through a day of sitting.
Calzedonia uses Italian dress sizing; the M fit our 5'6" tester with minor ankle slack. The 40-denier stretch is friendly, so between sizes is not a problem. Taller wearers should check leg length on the pack.
For a plain, presentable everyday tight the Calzedonia 40D does the job quietly. It pairs with anything and the nude tone is a clean match for most skin. After a week of wear and one wash it showed no snags, which is fair at the price.
At $14 it is a sensible buy for daily rotation. It will not wow you, but it will not let you down either — exactly what a staple should be.
Best for an inexpensive, dependable everyday tight. Ideal for office and casual rotation.
