We tested the black pair in size M. The 80D Opaque is a fully opaque tight with a smooth exterior, a comfort waistband, and a reinforced toe. Falke markets it for cold weather, so we wore it through the coldest days of testing with long outdoor walks.
How it feels
The 80-denier knit is substantial and warm without feeling stiff. The exterior is smooth rather than brushed, which layers cleanly under trousers and skirts. The waistband is wide and stayed flat through long sits. The toe seam is comfortable for boots.
Fit and sizing
Falke sizing runs by height and weight; the M fit our 5'6" tester cleanly with no ankle pooling. The 80-denier stretch is robust, so between sizes is flexible. Falke's length grading is reliable for average heights.
Warmth and durability
For deep winter the 80D was genuinely warm and comfortable on long walks. After multiple wears and washes it showed no pilling or loss of opacity, which is where the premium shows versus budget opaques. It is built to last a season of heavy use.

At $30 it costs more than a high-street opaque, but the durability and finish make it cost-effective if you wear tights daily through winter. Buy one quality pair instead of three cheap ones.
