Charnos is a long-standing British name in hosiery, and the 15D Sheer is its barely-there ultra-sheer for warm days and bare-leg looks. At about $9 it is firmly budget. We wore them to see whether a cheap ultra-sheer is wearable.
What we tested
We tested the nude pair in size M. The 15D Sheer is an ultra-sheer tight with a barely-there finish, a standard waistband, and a reinforced toe. Charnos markets it for summer and subtle coverage, so we wore it on warm days and under light dresses.
How it feels
The 15-denier knit is light and airy, giving a hint of coverage rather than a visible tight. The nude tone is a clean beige that softens the leg without reading as hosiery. The waistband is basic but comfortable for a day.
Fit and sizing
Charnos uses standard dress sizing; the M fit our 5'6" tester with minor ankle slack. Ultra-sheer means little stretch forgiveness, so follow the size chart and avoid sizing down. The toe is reinforced, which helps with open shoes.
Wear and care
For the price the 15D wore acceptably for a few outings before we would retire it. It is not run-proof, but at $9 that is expected. Keep it for low-risk days and skip jewelry contact.
Value for money
At $9 it is a throwaway-acceptable ultra-sheer for warm weather. Buy a few and do not stress about runs.

For an ultra-sheer that you expect to retire after a few wears, the 5-pack is the rational buy — keep a drawer stocked and stop stressing about runs. A single makes sense only if you are testing the shade or wear them rarely.
